Do you know why 26th January is celebrated as Republic Day?

India demanded status of dominion state status and British rejected it. This angered our then leadership and they decided on Purna Swaraj, demanding full independence. Indian leaders defiantly decided to celebrate Independence Day on last Sunday of January in 1930, which was on 26th January. In 1949, when the constitution was ready, it was then that the leaders, in honor of the first Independence Day celebrations of 26th January, 1930, decided to wait for 2 more months to officially enforce it.

Republic means the supreme power of the people living in the country and only public has rights to elect their representatives as political leader to lead the country in right direction.

Our leaders formulated the constitution keeping in mind all the sections of the society and to bring prosperity by giving each one in this country equal opportunity. As a citizen of this country and as representative of people of Maharashtra, I have strived to bring in inclusive development. Though farmers and farming has a special place in my heart, I have strived for industrial development. Our Respected Prime minister Mr. Narendra Modiji’s vision for Make In India and Renewable Energy, Resources to everyone and Development for everyone must be fulfilled to see the full picture of development and we are tirelessly working to make it a reality through various initiative that we have taken.

I am sure that coming years will be the foundation for the developed India. Let us all join hands to make this country a Super Power.

 Jai Hind!

Jai Maharashtra!
